They are the publisher of the Secrets anthologies, one of the first experiment of ebooks, many years ago, even before Ellora's Cave. Authors like Emma Holly and Robin Schone published short stories in that anthologies. I stopped to buy from them when I started to read M/M, and didn't know they are thinking to publish them. It's a good news, according to me, since they are not big publishers, but with a good past history. Elisa

I'm friends with Alexa Aames who published two stories for them in Volumes 14 and I think 23 or 24 of Secrets. I used to see their books in a lot of Borders, but I don't know if that's still the case. In general I think they were a little late to e-publishing. I remember Alexa thinking that Red Sage loved very dominant alpha males. Good for them for expanding to m/m. :)

Their website has certainly given me the impression in the past that they were deeply disinterested in receiving m/m submissions, but without the rudeness you get from people who actively disapprove of it. They haven't actually changed their submission guidelines, which makes me wonder how sudden/serious this alleged new interest is. OTOH, the reason I was looking at their guidelines in the past was that they seemed from the outside to be a sane and successful print small press, and the thing with at least one chain agreeing to shelve the new Perseus imprint alongside romance may have made them think it's now a market that fits their readership profile.

I don't write m/m myself, but I am published with Red Sage Publishing. They're a classy company. I'm published with Samhain and recently sold to Kensington as well. I can honestly say that I enjoy writing for all three publishers. In addition, Red Sage does have some impressive authors as well: Saskia Walker, Lisa Marie Rice, Emma Holly, Mary Janice Davidson, and more...
