Techno Thrall

  • Sep. 7th, 2008 at 4:55 PM
yay

Techno Thrall is now the name of the robotz novel, formerly known as Rage Against the Machines. RATM was a great name for a straight sci-fi story, but it's futuristic erotica about robot companions sold into the electronic equivalent of sexual slavery. Techno Thrall? Says all that in two words ("Techno" does too count as a word!)

Lyrical is the speediest of publishers. I've got my cover and my title and my editor and my publication slot. I'm all ready to go.

Thank you kindly. I've got the Dr. Who stuff ready to bring you tomorrow. Don't know if it will play on your DVD player. You may have to watch it on the computer.

The guy looks a little... non-human, right?

Pretty cover. I loved the descriptive quality of your former title, but Techno Thrall does fit, too, and is catchy.
Boy, Lyrical *is* speedy. I've never seen a press produce such quality so quickly.

Thanks!

I'm liking Lyrical so far. Lots of paperwork, but it's all constructive to help them generate your cover, to help you generate your blurb and back cover copy, etc.

Ooh, nice cover! How do they manage to do that sexy but tasteful thing? Lovely font too (behold my geekiness ;) ).

Gorgeous! Lyrical seems to do some of the best covers around, I'm impressed.

Me, too. I got the first draft Saturday morning. I wrote back that I thought since any following I had would know me as a m/m author and TT is m/f, that we should probably add a gal to the cover. Fifteen minutes later the *perfect* image of my heroine appeared. Wow!

Great, "hook"-y name, IMO, and a hawt cover. You're on your way! Off to read the excerpt.

Thanks. (What I didn't mention is that I got a rejection yesterday, as well. Ouch, that stings.)

Wow, totally awesome!!! you are really on a roll now. I guess once you get a couple of things accepted, it just gets easier and easier?

I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Laura the other night and she's convinced me to try submitting a different fic than the one I'd originally thought to work on, so sort of back to the drawing board. I checked out lyrical's site and they are interested in anything over 15K words, which is great, since most of my stuff is over that. I'm going to try to work on a shorter and a longer piece of fanfic and maybe go for them.

Go for it. Good luck. Let me know if you need help with the query letter.
